History
Architectural Metal & Glass Estimating Services was established in 2007 by Charles Gutman, soon after his retirement as an Architectural Metal & Glass Trade Contractor. Charles was active in the industry for over 30 years. The last sixteen years, he was the Owner and Operator of Landmark Architectural Metal and Glass Co. Inc.
"Landmark", as they were known in the industry, built a solid reputation for high quality work, competitive pricing, and always on-time delivery of complex, high-end projects. To maintain tight control of quality and delivery, much of Landmark's work was fabricated in-house at their 30,000 sq. ft. metal and glass fabricating plant in Brooklyn, NY.
Landmark's projects, as displayed on this site, include: Storefronts, Curtainwalls, Entrances, Canopies, Composite Fascia Panels, Windows, Column Enclosures, Railings, Skylights, Bullet-Resistant Screens, Security Work, and Custom Metal & Glass fabrications of all types. These projects can be found throughout the Tri-State area in: Commercial and Residential Building Facades, Lobbies and Tenant Spaces, High-End Retail Stores, Hotels, Restaurants, Hospitals, Schools, Banks, Airports, Museums, and numerous other types of commercial, industrial, and public sector facilities.
In contemplating an early retirement as a Trade Contractor, Charles realized he could utilize his extensive experience and expertise, and the experience and expertise of his key Estimating Department personnel, to fill an unrecognized need within the Industry. Today, Charles Gutman, and his team at Architectural Metal & Glass Estimating Services, provide Professional Cost Estimating Services, on an "as needed" basis, to the trade.
Mission:
Estimating accurate construction cost, and identifying potential pitfalls, is one of the most important aspects of a successful project. An accurate estimate is critical to the success of any construction business, and should always get the attention it needs. However, projects are not bid on the Subcontractor's schedule, and sometimes they don't have the manpower available to properly prepare a large, or complex estimate. When that situation arises, the estimator must work overtime, or worse yet, rush through the estimate and take short-cuts to get it done in time.
Because they lack time, and are in a rush, they sometimes overlook things, forgo doing adequate research, and neglect to obtain a sufficient quantity of Vendor and Subcontractor Quotations. For all the time and effort that they do put into the estimate, the final result is they have only a "Guesstimate" to rely upon when bidding, or negotiating for the project.
There are times they can get away with that, but there are times when that just won't do! For those estimates, they call on Architectural Metal & Glass Estimating Services to get the job done right. If they don't procrastinate before contacting us, we can usually tackle the job, give it the attention it deserves, and reliably get the estimate done properly.

Each clients' project receives one-on-one attention, from at least one of our highly skilled estimators through the entire estimating process. Charles Gutman himself, supervises, reviews, and approves, each and every estimate before it is delivered to the Client.
We understand the importance of being reliable, accurate, and thorough when preparing an estimate for a Client. This is why we promise to give your estimate the attention it deserves, each and every time. Estimates are always delivered on time, and on the money.
Client participation:
To ensure our clients' needs are satisfied, we learn from them the extent of the services they want us to provide, and when necessary, the extent of their in-house production capabilities, as well as their preferred Vendors for the project. We then prepare the estimate to their exact requirements, and provide them with just what they want in the estimate, in the format they desire. Whether providing just a quantity take-off, or a completely developed, in-depth estimate, our Clients can rely on our work 100% of the time.
Creativity:
30+ years of experience is invaluable when it comes to both Estimating and "Value Engineering" a project. We love the challenge of complicated projects, and determining the most economical way to produce them. We often brainstorm with our Clients to help them develop the best possible way to attack a project. We can often suggest alternate fabrication or installation methods as well as alternative Vendor sources- both domestic, and off-shore.

Under no circumstances do we ever discuss you, your project, or your Business, with any other Trade or General Contractor. All communication with Vendors, Architects, and Clients is made in your Company's name, and only with your express consent and approval to do so.
